Varnabas Museum Hotel is a portal to the soul of Nepal

Nestled in the historic valley of Kathmandu, the Varnabas Museum Hotel is the pinnacle of luxury hotel in Kathmandu, proudly showcasing the rich diversity of our country-Nepal. Representing the culture and celebration of different ethnicities of Nepal, the hotel aims to give you an immersive experience into the essence of this unique land. Ascending each floor is like an ascent to Everest itself as each floor changes from the themes of Southern Plains of Terai ascending to higher floors resembling the Northern Himalayas.

Varnabas welcomes visitors from all over the world to honour the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – a Sanskrit phrase that means ‘The world is one family.’

What our Guests have to say

We’re staying at the Varnabas Museum Hotel in beautiful Kathmandu. This hotel is brand new. It has the most beautiful artifacts, designs. All the walls are done by indigenous artists and it’s almost like being in a real museum and sleeping there. It’s just really a lot of fun. We really enjoyed it. The people are lovely here and I would highly recommend, if you come to Kathmandu, come to the Varnabas.

  • Exquisite Dining at Kharka-la: A Culinary Experience in Kathmandu

    Pradeep Chamaria
During my recent visit to Kathmandu to attend HTM 2025, I had a lavish lunch at Kharka-la, an exquisite multi-cuisine restaurant at Varnabas Museum Hotel. Mr. Rajendra Bajgain, chairman of Varnabas Museum Hotel, joined us for lunch and also gave us a tour of the hotel.
Like any artistic creation, great cuisine comes from the heart and is fuelled by passion. The chefs at the restaurant Kharka-la ensure that diners are always served sumptuous food inspired by the Sherpa lifestyle.
  • A stylish haven in the heart of Kathmandu that really celebrates Nepalese culture

    Maggie M
What a beautiful, very special hotel in the heart of Kathmandu! The exterior is very visually striking with the roofline representing 3 major peaks of Nepal including Everest. Inside it’s beautifully stylish and welcoming and really celebrates the rich and vibrant culture and heritage of Nepal. The rooms are spacious and beautiful with the most comfortable beds and pillows ever and even the baths come with a great view! There are lots of wonderful, subtle but meaningful design touches in the all suite rooms with the floors and rooms designed to represent and showcase the rich culture of Nepal’s lowlands, middle hills areas and high mountains.
